Emory & Henry Men’s Track & Field Sees Two Earn All-Region Honors From USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS, La. – For the first time in program history, the Emory & Henry University Men's Track & Field Team has seen two of its members named to the NCAA Division II All-Southeast Region Indoor Team by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The awards are given to the top-five individuals in each event from each of the country's eight regions, in addition to each member of the region's top-three relay teams.

Emory & Henry saw junior Gavin Lee (North Tazewell, Va.) and junior Zavery Wallace (Buena Vista, Va.) honored for their accomplishments in the weight throw over the course of the season.

Lee put up the best mark in the region, a 17.94 meter throw at the JDL Last Chance Invitational on February 22 which was also the E&H record. He finished third at the South Atlantic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships to earn All-SAC Third-Team accolades.

Wallace was third in the region with a 17.58 meter toss at the at the SAC Indoor meet, as he finished as the conference runner-up by just 0.01 meters. That performance also garnered All-SAC Second-Team honors.
