ROCK HILL, S.C. – Emory & Henry University junior Gavin Lee has been selected as the South Atlantic Conference Men's Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week, SAC officials announced Tuesday. This year, the SAC Players of the Week are being sponsored by WePlayed Sports. 

This is the third time in Lee's career that he has been named SAC Field Athlete of the Week and the second time for Outdoor Track & Field. He earned indoor honors this past winter and was recognized for his outdoor accomplishments in April of 2023.

The North Tazewell, Virginia native won the hammer throw with a school-record and league-leading mark of 56.45 meters at the Mountaineer First Chance last Friday. That distance is currently 11th in NCAA Division II.

Lee was also second in the discus (45.47m) which is third-best in the SAC and 56th in the country.

Emory & Henry will travel to compete in the Livingstone Blue Bear Invitational on Saturday in Salisbury, North Carolina.
