NEW ORLEANS, La. – For the first time since 1987, Emory & Henry University has a track & field All-American. Junior thrower Gavin Lee was honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday as a Second-Team All-American.

The USTFCCCA awards First-Team All-America honors to the top eight finishers at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships and second-team accolades to finishers nine through 12.

The North Tazewell, Virginia native finished 10th in the hammer throw at the Division II National Championships in Pueblo, Colorado on Thursday with a mark of 58.86 meters.

Lee is Emory & Henry's first track & field All-American since Troy Chandler earned first-team honors in 1987 with a fourth-place finish in the discus.
