Emory & Henry Men’s Cross Country Finishes Eighth At ODAC Championship

BUENA VISTA, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Cross Country Team turned in an eighth-place finish at the 2016 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships Saturday morning.

The Basics
FINAL RESULT – 8th/10
LOCATION – Buena Vista, Virginia  – Buena Vista Links Golf Course

The Results – 8K (5 miles)
- Sophomore Austin Tolbert (Wytheville, Va.) finished 31st overall to lead the Wasps, turning in a personal-best time of 28:02.
- Senior Alex Cooper (Christiansburg, Va.) was second on the team in 36th, stopping the watches in 28:15 while senior Kevin Watts (Stafford, Va.) came in 44th with a 28:40.
- Sophomore Zane Moran (Floyd, Va.) and senior Jackson Feezell (Gastonia, N.C.) were 63rd (29:14) and 78th (30:30) overall, respectively to round out the top five for the Wasps.
- Junior Buck Kirtland (Richmond, Va.) and freshman Colt Pierce (Lockhart, Texas) also competed for Emory & Henry.

The Leaders
- Washington and Lee University won the team title, putting five runners in the top 15 including the individual champion and runner-up.
- Lynchburg College and Bridgewater College took second and third place, respectively.
- Mac Strehler of W&L won the race with a time of 26:07 earning ODAC Runner of the Year honors.

Up Next
- Emory & Henry will complete the 2016 season at the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Region Championship on Saturday, November 12.
- Berry College will serve as the host for this year's regional meet.
