Emory & Henry Men's Cross Country Takes 14th At Royals Cross Country Challenge Friday

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Cross Country teams competed at the Royals Cross Country Challenge hosted by Queens (N.C.) University of Charlotte on Friday. The men's team finished 14th out of 27 teams, while the women's team was 22nd out of the field of 25.

The Men – 8K (4.97 miles)
- Sophomore Aaron Wilson (Chester, Va.) led E&H with a time of 28:58.3 and an 82nd place finish.
- Freshman Miles Baldwin (Willis, Va.) ran a 29:02.7, good enough for 84th and freshman Willie Burns, Jr. (Woodbridge, Va.) finished with a 29:10.8 and an 88th place finish.
- Freshmen Tommy Henzey, IV (Salem, Va.) and Samuel Tindall (Fort Defiance, Va.) posted times of 29:50.6 and 30:03.9 respectively.
- University of Rio Grande's Tyler Jenkins was the individual winner with a time of 25:35.7.
- Augusta University took home the team title with four runners amongst the top 21 finishers.

The Women – 5K (3.14 miles)
- Freshman Elise McKinney (Church Hill, Tenn.) led the Wasps in 47th place with a time of 21:21.3 while fellow freshman Sydney Bonney (Bristol, Va.) ran a 24:06.3 to finish in 118th place.
- Junior Annalyse McHone (Shawsville, Va.) finished with a time of 25:20.6 while sophomores Michelle Diaz (Woodbridge, Va.) and Chloe Jones (Harrison, Tenn.) ran times of 27:00.2 and 27:41.9 respectively.
- Life Runners' Julia Webb was the victorious individual runner with a time of 17:48.4.
- Ave Maria University won the team event as they placed two runners in the top nine.

Up Next
- Emory & Henry will travel to Salem, Virginia on Friday to compete in the Roanoke XC Invitational at Green Hill Park. The event is hosted by former Old Dominion Athletic Conference foe Roanoke College.
