ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Cross Country Team has been picked to finish eighth in the South Atlantic Conference this coming fall by the league's head coaches. The poll was released by the SAC office on Thursday.

E&H boasts its largest roster in well over a decade with seven returners and 10 incoming freshmen. This group is poised to vault the Wasps into the upper half of the league.

Additionally, the SAC has announced its Runners to Watch List with junior Matthew Klapak (Zion Crossroads, Va.), sophomore Miles Baldwin (Willis, Va.), and freshman Kaleb Elswick (Big Rock, Va.) making the list for Emory & Henry.

E&H has its first opportunity to compete on Friday, September 1, at the EMU Heritage Invitational, hosted by Eastern Mennonite University. The Wasps travel to South Carolina on Saturday, September 16 for the Converse Invitational at Milliken Research Park.

The midway point of the season will be the NCAA Division II Southeast Region Preview, hosted by University of North Georgia on Saturday, September 30 in Oakwood, Georgia. Emory & Henry returns to the Commonwealth on Friday, October 13, competing at the Roanoke Invitational at Green Hill Park in Salem.

The 2023 SAC Championships will be hosted by Lenoir-Rhyne University at Southside Park in Newton, North Carolina on Saturday, October 21.

Wingate University received the maximum number of points and 12 first-place votes and tops the poll. Catawba College is second with the final top nod while Anderson (S.C.) University and Lenoir-Rhyne University make up the top four.
