Emory & Henry Men’s Cross Country Finishes Eighth At Roanoke Invitational Friday

SALEM, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's & Women's Cross Country Teams competed in their final regular-season meet Friday evening, racing at the Roanoke XC Invitational. The meet was hosted by Roanoke College at Green Hill Park in Salem.

The E&H women finished as the second-place team with all five of their scoring runners in the top 25 while the men's squad was eighth.

The Women – 6K (3.73 miles)
- Sophomore Delaney Eller (Salem, Va.) notched a top-10 finish as she took eighth in 23:25. Freshman Trinity Neff (Grottoes, Va.) was 11th, crossing the line in 23:32.
- Freshman Kennedy Harris (Mineral, Va.) came in 15th with a time of 23:47 while freshman Jessi Looney (Vansant, Va.) and sophomore Elise McKinney (Church Hill, Tenn.) were 23rd (24:10) and 24th (24:11), respectively.
- Eastern Mennonite University's Lucy Unzicker won the meet with a time of 22:45. Fayetteville State University claimed the team title with four runners finishing in the top 20.

The Men – 8K (4.97 miles)
- Freshman Aidan Trautman (Centreville, Md.) was the Wasps' leading runner, finishing 41st overall in 27:22 while freshman Davis Norman (Salem, Va.) ran a 27:31 to take 45th.
- Freshman Hillis Roberson, IV (Rosenburg, Texas) cracked the top 50 at 49th (27:36) as sophomore Logan Choplin (Manassas, Va.) and freshman Caeden Bowker (Salem, Va.) were 65th (28:24) and 66th (28:27), respectively.
- University of Lynchburg won the team title as the Hornets placed seven runners in the top 17 of the meet. Dylan May from Southern Virginia University brought home medalist honors with a time of 24:40.

Emory & Henry closes out the 2023 cross country season at the South Atlantic Conference Championships on Saturday, October 21. Lenoir-Rhyne University will host the event at Southside Park in Newton, North Carolina.
