ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Emory & Henry University Men's Cross Country Team has been picked to finish seventh in the South Atlantic Conference this year by the league's head coaches. The poll was released by the SAC office on Wednesday.

E&H posted a seventh-place finish at last year's SAC Championships and returns 15 letterwinners while losing none to graduation. Additionally, seven new runners join the fold, giving the Wasps their largest team in program history at 22.

Wingate University, the 2023 NCAA Division II National Champion, is picked to finish atop the league for the fourth consecutive year since the COVID-19 pandemic, earning a maximum 12 first-place votes. Catawba College is second in the poll with the remaining top nod while Anderson University is third and Lenoir-Rhyne University is fourth.

Additionally, the SAC has announced its Runners to Watch List with senior Matthew Klapak (Zion Crossroads, Va.) and sophomores Kaleb Elswick (Big Rock, Va.) and Marcus Sosa (San Diego, Calif.) making the list for E&H.

Emory & Henry will open the year at the Catawba Invitational, hosted by Catawba College on Saturday, September 7. The meet will take place at Community Park in Salisbury, North Carolina.
