
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Emory & Henry University Men's & Women's Cross Country Teams have been recognized for their accomplishments in the classroom by the United State Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Both the men's and women's squads have been recognized as All-Academic Teams with six individuals earning All-Academic honors as well.

For the fall 2024 semester, 125 women's teams received All-Academic distinction. Emory & Henry posted a 3.541 team GPA and is one of eight members of the South Atlantic Conference to earn the award. Additionally, the Wasps saw two individuals bring home All-Academic honors in juniors Delaney Eller (Salem, Va.) and Elise McKinney (Church Hill, Tenn.) From the league, 32 individuals were recognized.
On the men's side, 115 different programs across Division II claimed All-Academic accolades. Emory & Henry, with a 3.264 team GPA, was one of eight SAC schools to earn the award. Additionally, 19 men from the league received All-Academic distinction, four from Emory & Henry in senior Matthew Klapak (Zion Crossroads, Va.), juniors Miles Baldwin (Willis, Va.) and Samuel Tindall (Fort Defiance, Va.) and sophomore Davis Norman (Salem, Va.).
In order for an individual to qualify for All-Academic distinction, a student-athlete must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 30 percent of their respective regional championship meet. Teams receive All-Academic honors by having a 3.0 cumulative GPA and compiling a team score at their respective regional championship meet.
