FOREST, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Softball Team has seen six of its players named to the All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference Teams, ODAC officials announced Tuesday. It marks the second-straight year that the Wasps have posted program-bests for all-conference honorees.

Junior outfielder Erin Anderson (Aylett, Va.) was selected to the All-ODAC First Team while senior first baseman Caley Hodge (Elizabethton, Tenn.) and junior catcher Amanda Whitlow (Riner, Va.) earned second-team recognition. Senior shortstop Leah Elswick (Honaker, Va.), junior outfielder Madison McClanahan (Abingdon, Va.) and sophomore second baseman Lyndsay Boyd (Abingdon, Va.) joined the group with spots on the third team.

Additionally, Anderson was named the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the league's sports information directors. It marks back-to-back years that an E&H player has been tabbed as the top softball student-athlete in the league.

Anderson led the team with a .395 batting average, 51 base hits, 16 stolen bases, five sacrifice bunts and three triples. She put up a .447 on-base percentage and a .519 slugging average from her place at the top of the lineup while adding 17 RBI, 28 runs scored and 13 extra-base hits. She was also tabbed to the ODAC All-Tournament Team for a second year in a row.

Hodge becomes just the second player in program history to be selected to the all-conference teams in each of her four seasons. The career home run leader for E&H with 32 round-trippers, Hodge hit .363 this year with a team-leading 20 walks and .453 on-base and .615 slugging percentages. She also scored a team-best 39 runs with six home runs, 12 doubles, 36 RBI and 10 stolen bases.

Whitlow makes it back-to-back seasons as an all-league performer, batting .276 with a .354 on-base percentage. She stole eight bases and drove in five runs while drawing six walks on the year. Regarded as a defensive threat behind the plate, Whitlow also threw out 10 runners on the base paths and allowed just 15 steals on the season.

Elswick earns All-ODAC recognition for the third time in her four years. She hit .336 with a team-best 14 doubles and 39 RBI while adding three home runs, 32 runs and a .524 slugging percentage.

McClanahan batted .295 with 20 runs, 20 RBI, 10 doubles, and four home runs on the year. She put up a .331 on-base percentage and a .491 slugging average to earn her first all-conference accolades.

Boyd finished fourth on the team in batting average at .322 with a .460 slugging average. She scored 18 runs on 28 hits with nine extra-base hits and 11 RBI to earn all-league laurels.

Emory & Henry has recorded a 31-14 overall mark so far this year and finished as the runner-up in the ODAC Tournament for the second year in a row. The Wasps went 9-9 during the conference regular season, finishing in fifth place. Currently ranked No. 9 in the NCAA Division III Atlantic Region, E&H awaits the announcement of the 62-team field which will compete for the Division III National Championship.
