LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Emory & Henry College Softball Team has seen nine of its players named Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes, NFCA officials announced recently. The NFCA is the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

"I am extremely proud of our team for striving for excellence in all that they do," said Head Coach Tommy Forrester. "These women are superb student-athletes who excel in so many aspects. I'm glad to see their hard work in the classroom recognized by the NFCA."

Tabbed as All-America Scholar-Athletes from E&H were senior Leah Elswick (Honaker, Va.); juniors Erin Anderson (Aylett, Va.), Holly Britt (Floyd, Va.), Madison McClanahan (Abingdon, Va.), Rachel Smoot (Riner, Va.) and Amanda Whitlow (Riner, Va.); sophomore Lyndsay Boyd (Abingdon, Va.); and freshmen Kyndall Hiatt (Ararat, Va.) and Kendall Varner (Bassett, Va.).

Qualifications for the award require the player to be a varsity letterwinner and to achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 or better during the 2017-18 academic year.
