How It Happened
Rochester got out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first thanks in part to a RBI single by Toni Anne Hahn. The Wasps answered with a run in the second to make the score 3-1 on a sacrifice fly by sophomore catcher Mia Altizer (Abingdon, Va.). Both squads scored twice in the third for a 5-3 Yellowjacket lead with E&H's scores coming on a two-run single by senior centerfielder Erin Anderson (Aylett, Va.).

Rochester pushed the margin to 7-3 midway through the fifth, but Emory & Henry tied things up with four runs in the bottom of the sixth. Junior catcher Alex Thomas (Orlando, Fla.) cleared the bases with a double to centerfield and was driven home by sophomore third baseman Allyson Steadman's (Kingsport, Tenn.) base hit.

After forcing a 1-2-3 inning, E&H completed the comeback in the bottom of the seventh. With no outs and runners on second and third, junior shortstop Leanna Toler (Abingdon, Va.) hit a sacrifice fly to right, driving in freshman left fielder Anna Thomas (Climax, Va.) for the winning run.

Sophomore right-hander Cameron Derr (Cornelius, N.C.) earned the win in relief, pitching the final four innings with two runs on one hit and five strikeouts. Rochester's Elizabeth Bourne took the loss, allowing eight runs on 12 hits.
