VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – The No. 9 Emory & Henry College Softball Team has earned two places on the 2021 Old Dominion Athletic Conference All-Tournament Team, league officials announced Sunday. The teams were announced on the campus of Virginia Wesleyan University following the Marlins' capture of the league title.

Senior third baseman Allyson Steadman (Kingsport, Tenn.) and junior centerfielder Anna Thomas (Climax, N.C.) were E&H's two representatives on the 11-player squad. The Wasps reached the ODAC Tournament Semifinals, falling to eventual league runner-up University of Lynchburg by a 2-1 series score.

Steadman hit .235 (4-for-17) over the Wasps' five games in the tournament with a double, three RBI and a run scored. She had a RBI double in game one of the ODAC Quarterfinals against Ferrum College and put the Panthers to bed with the walk-off single to propel Emory & Henry to the semifinal series. In E&H's game-two win over Lynchburg, Steadman was 1-for-3 and scored what would end up being the winning run. In the field, she made five putouts and had four assists from her spot at third base.

Thomas went 5-for-15 (.333) at the plate scoring five runs as she drew three walks and drove in two runs. She had a pair of hits in game two against Ferrum and scored twice in the first contest against Lynchburg. In the Wasps' 7-3 game-two win against the Hornets, she tagged a two-run home run down the right-field line in the sixth inning as part of a two-for-three performance where she scored twice. Thomas made 13 putouts at her centerfield position across the five games.

Emory & Henry awaits the announcement of the 48-team field for this year's NCAA Division III Tournament. The Wasps are chasing one of five at-large bids which will be awarded to the top programs in the country who did not earn their conference's automatic qualification. The selection show will be streamed on NCAA.com on the afternoon of Monday, May 17.
