LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Emory & Henry College senior pitcher/designated player Alex Braun (Lexington, S.C.) has been named to the 2021 NFCA Division III All-Atlantic Region First Team. It is the fourth year in a row that the Wasps have seen one of their players earn all-region from the NFCA.

Braun adds All-Atlantic honors to a pair of All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference First Team nods as she was recognized as both a pitcher and a designated player by the league's coaches on Tuesday.

So far this season, Braun leads the Wasps in the circle with 13 wins and one save, pitching 17 complete games with 117 strikeouts and a 2.08 earned run average. At the plate, she paces the team with a .463 batting average, .491 on-base percentage and an .870 slugging average. Braun has posted 50 hits including a nation-leading 20 doubles, a league-leading eight home runs, 31 runs scored and 39 RBI. She also notched a 24-game hitting streak to start the year.

As a member of the all-region team, Braun is now eligible for selection to the 2021 NFCA Division III All-America squads which will be announced on Monday, May 24.
