-- TOURNAMENT HUB -- Emory & Henry Softball Earns Bid To 2021 NCAA Division III Tournament

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The No. 15 Emory & Henry College Softball Team has been selected to play in the 2021 NCAA Division III Tournament, NCAA officials announced via an online selection show Monday afternoon.

The Wasps, who are making their third appearance in the national postseason in the past five years, will be the #2 seed in the Seguin, Texas Regional on the campus of Texas Lutheran University.

The field of 48 teams will be split into eight regionals with six teams at each site. Tournament action for the Seguin Regional will begin on Friday, May 21 continuing through Sunday, May 23 at Texas Lutheran's Kruse Stadium - Morck Softball Field.

Emory & Henry will open the tournament against fifth-seeded Bridgewater State University of Massachusetts. Additionally, previous E&H opponent Christopher Newport University is seeded third and will face off against #4 Emmanuel (Mass.) College. Host Texas Lutheran University goes up against sixth-seeded Cedar Crest College of Pennsylvania.

E&H carries a 26-7 record into national tournament play after finishing second in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference regular season (13-3) and as a semifinalist in the ODAC Tournament. The final Atlantic Region Rankings are listed below.

Game Two - #2 Emory & Henry vs. # 5 Bridgewater State - 1:30 p.m. CDT (2:30 p.m. Eastern)
Game Three -
#3 Christopher Newport vs. #4 Emmanuel (Mass.) - 4:00 p.m. CDT
Game Four - G1 Loser vs. G2 Loser - 6:30 p.m. CDT

The schedule for the remainder of the tournament will be determined by the number of teams remaining following Games Six and Nine.

Spectator Information

Fans will be allowed at the regional tournament. Fan capacity will be capped at 50 percent. The 50 percent number for Ed Kruse Stadium is 386 fans. Admittance for each game will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Tickets are $5 per game. The stadium will be cleared of fans after each game.

The NCAA has instituted a championship-wide mask policy. Masks are required at all times when not actively eating or drinking. Fans are also encouraged to use social distancing at the stadium.
