Emory & Henry Softball Sees 14 Honored As NFCA Scholar-Athletes

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Emory & Henry College Softball Team has seen 14 of its players named Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America Scholar-Athletes. Additionally, the team posted an overall GPA of 3.63 for the 2020-21 academic year.

"I am extremely proud of our team for striving for excellence in all that they do," said Head Coach Tommy Forrester"These women are superb student-athletes who excel in so many aspects. I'm glad to see their hard work in the classroom recognized by the NFCA."

Qualifications for the award require the player to be a varsity letterwinner and to achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 or better during the 2020-21 academic year. Emory & Henry's honorees are:

Emory & Henry posted a 29-9 overall record with a 13-3 mark in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference this past spring, the best winning percentage in program history. The Wasps advanced to the NCAA Division III Tournament for the third time in five seasons, reaching the final of the Seguin Regional where they faced eventual national runner-up Texas Lutheran University.

E&H finished the year as one of the final 16 teams in the country, the program's best postseason finish. The Wasps were ranked in the top 25 of NCAA Division III for 11 weeks, spent three weeks in the top 10 and finished as the 13th ranked team in the country.
