Emory & Henry’s Danielle King Named To All-SAC Softball Second Team

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Emory & Henry College junior outfielder/first baseman Danielle King (Spencer, Va.) has been chosen as an All-South Atlantic Conference Second-Team member, SAC officials announced Thursday. The teams are voted on by the league's 13 head coaches.

King batted .333 for the season with a .342 average in conference games in her first season as a Wasp. She led E&H with 10 doubles and finished second on the team with 38 hits, 34 runs, 16 walks and 10 stolen bases. She added five home runs and 27 RBI as she posted a .412 on-base percentage and a .553 slugging average.

The Patrick & Henry Community College transfer had 13 multi-hit games with nine multi-run and seven multi-RBI contests. During the month of March, King hit a blistering .468 (29-for-62) with 25 runs, eight doubles, four home runs, 18 RBI and a 1.325 OPS. She reached base safely in 25 of 39 games played and had a nine-game on-base streak between March 5 and March 14.

Emory & Henry posted an 18-23 overall record and went 8-16 in league games this year. The Wasps finished 10th in the league standings.
