Last year, Emory & Henry posted an 18-23 record with an 8-16 mark in league play. The Wasps earned league sweeps over Catawba College, Coker University, Mars Hill University and Newberry College on their way to a 10th-place finish in the conference standings.

Wingate University, last year's SAC regular-season champion, is chosen to remain at the top of the table with six first-place votes. Lenoir-Rhyne University, which finished fourth in the NCAA Division II Softball Championship a year ago is second in the poll with six top nods of its own. Anderson University was chosen third while Carson-Newman University is fourth with the final first-place projection.

Additionally, the SAC announced its Preseason All-Conference teams with senior right fielder/first baseman Danielle King (Spencer, Va.) selected to the first team as a utility/non-pitcher and senior pitcher/designated player Olivia Yates (Floyd, Va.) earning a second-team nod at utility/pitcher.

Emory & Henry will open the season on Saturday, February 1 when it faces off against Lees-McRae College and Tiffin University at the Railsplitter Invitational on the campus of Lincoln Memorial University.
