How It Happened
The Bulldogs struck in the top of the first when Sydney Wade drove in Makenzie Cyzick with a double down the right field line. E&H responded in the bottom of the frame as sophomore third baseman Tristyn Tofano (Roanoke, Va.) plated a pair with a double to right-center.

In the second, Barton took a 3-2 advantage when Cyzick drove in two with a base hit down the right-field line.

Emory & Henry scored four in the third to regain the lead, 6-3. Junior second baseman Abigail Street (Glade Spring, Va.) got things started with a base knock to right. On the next at bat, Tofano also singled to right field to drive in another run. The Wasps got their other two runs as Street stole home and junior shortstop Rachel Hill (Stanardsville, Va.) drove in Tofano with a groundout.

Barton got one run back in the top of the fourth on a groundout by Mea Urquijo but would get no closer as E&H claimed the 6-4 final.

Wasp junior left-hander Malorie Reeves (Galax, Va.) picked up the win, scattering four unearned runs on six hits with five strikeouts. Kierstin Cooper suffered the loss, allowing four runs on two hits in two-plus innings of work.
