
EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry University Softball Team (26-16, 7-9 SAC) got back on the winning track on Wednesday with a pair of South Atlantic Conference victories over Limestone University (12-20, 7-11 SAC). The Wasps won game one, 10-5, and completed the sweep in walk-off fashion, 6-4.

Game One – Emory & Henry 10, Limestone 5
The Saints got on the board with three runs in the top of the second, highlighted by a two-run triple by Faith Callaway. E&H responded with a run in the third when senior centerfielder Mackenzie Williams (St. Augustine, Fla.) drove in freshman catcher Liberty Johnson (Arvonia, Va.) with a fielder's choice.
Limestone got its run back in the fourth when Callaway drove in Emma Wrenn with a single up the middle. The Wasps closed the gap to 4-3 in the bottom half of the inning on a pair of solo home runs by sophomore third baseman Tristyn Tofano (Roanoke, Va.) and freshman designated player Hannah Booth (Longwood, Fla.).
In the fifth, Emory & Henry went up 8-4, scoring five runs on a pair of round trippers by senior first baseman Lydia Taylor (Salem, Va.) and Johnson. The Wasps kept the pressure on in the sixth, pushing another pair of runs across for a 10-4 advantage. Taylor posted another RBI base knock, driving in Williams with a single through the left side and Booth drew a bases-loaded walk.
In the top of the seventh, Limestone got a run back as Emma King doubled to right-center for the final 10-5 score.
E&H junior left-hander Malorie Reeves (Galax, Va.) earned the win in relief, allowing one run on two hits with three strikeouts in 3.2 innings. Limestone's Chelsey Stonesifer suffered the loss pitching 3.1 innings across two spells as she allowed four runs on five hits.
Game Two – Emory & Henry 6, Limestone 4
Emory & Henry got things started in the bottom of the second as Booth drove in Tofano with a base hit to right-center. The Saints responded with three runs in the fourth including a two-run single to left by Wrenn.
The Wasps closed the gap to 3-2 in the fourth and went ahead 4-3 in the sixth as junior shortstop Rachel Hill (Stanardsville, Va.) had a RBI groundout and a two-run home run.
In the top of the seventh, Olivia Veidt tied things up at four runs apiece for Limestone with an infield single. The Wasps won the game in the bottom of the frame when Taylor drilled a two-run home run over the centerfield wall for the 6-4 victory.
Reeves grabbed the complete game win for E&H, scattering four runs on 12 hits with five strikeouts. Limestone's Carmen Turgeon took the loss, permitting six runs on 10 hits with three walks.

Emory & Henry will travel to face Newberry College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. The Wasps' doubleheader at Concord University scheduled for Thursday has been cancelled.
