Afton Jessee is entering her first year as an Assistant Softball Coach at Emory & Henry University.

A native of Abingdon, Virginia, Jessee was a four-year starter in centerfield at Abingdon High School and two-time team captain. She tied the VHSL record for stolen bases in a single game with seven. Jessee also played travel ball for Pride.

Jessee played two years of collegiate softball at Belmont Abbey College in Belmont, North Carolina. She appeared in 43 games across the 2021 and 2022 seasons, scoring 22 runs and stealing five bases before her career was cut short by an injury.

Jessee transferred to East Tennessee State University where she completed her Bachelor's Degree in kinesiology with a concentration in exercise science in May. During her time at ETSU, she stayed involved in softball giving private lessons for outfield and hitting and coaching youth teams.

She currently lives in Bristol, Tennessee with her dog, Sierra.
