Eastern Mennonite Women’s Basketball Outruns Emory &Henry, 90-51, Friday Evening

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Eastern Mennonite University Women's Basketball Team (10-1, 7-1 ODAC) picked up a 90-51 victory over visiting Emory & Henry College (1-7, 0-6 ODAC) in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play Friday evening at Yoder Arena.

Eastern Mennonite got out to a 9-2 lead and never looked back on its way to a 15-point halftime lead (37-22). In the second half, the Royals posted 53 points thanks in part to a 24-6 run early in the period. EMU would lead by as many as 42 points late before E&H scored the final three points of the contest to close the gap under 40.

The Royals saw five players reach double figures in scoring and were led by Stephanie Rheinheimer with 16 points and Nora Osei with 10 points and 10 rebounds. All 10 players that saw action for EMU were able to make their mark in the scoring column.

Emory & Henry was led by freshmen Michelle Williams (Stokesdale, N.C.) and Carlyta Hamm (Wytheville, Va.) as they each posted 11 points. Williams had eight rebounds on the night while Hamm tallied six.

E&H will return to the court tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 p.m., as the Wasps will visit the Eagles of Bridgewater College.
