Guilford Women's Basketball Takes Down Emory & Henry, 66-40, Tuesday Evening

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Guilford College Women's Basketball Team (12-3, 9-1 ODAC) picked up a 66-40 win over Emory & Henry College (1-9, 0-8 ODAC) in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action on Tuesday night at Ragan-Brown Field House.

The Quakers got out to a 9-2 lead early in the contest and never looked back, building a 12-point lead (31-19) at the half.

After the break, Guilford went on a 18-6 run to push its lead to 49-25 at the 13:48 mark. The Quakers would lead by as much as 27 in the contest en route to the 66-40 victory.

Gabby Oglesby led all scorers with 14 points and eight rebounds for Guilford while Kayla Adams and Jazlyn Gibbs posted 12 and 10 points, respectively. The Quakers shot 51.6 percent (16-for-31) from the field in the second half.

Emory & Henry was paced by freshman guard Kristie Langley (Staley, N.C.) with 13 points and six rebounds. Freshman center Carlyta Hamm (Wytheville, Va.) had 10 points, nine rebounds and three steals while senior forward Ashlyn Baird (Boone, N.C.) tallied 10 points of her own.

The Wasps will be back in action on Friday when they welcome the Hornets of Lynchburg College to Bob Johnson Court. Tipoff for the ODAC contest is set for 7:00 p.m.
