Emory & Henry Women’s Basketball Team Camp A Success

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Basketball Team held its annual team camp from June 20-23 on the campus of Emory & Henry and Patrick Henry High School. Twenty-five teams from 15 schools and four states attended the camp which focused on team play and competition.

"I would like to thank all the teams for their hard work and competitiveness over the four days of camp," said E&H Head Coach Rose Katz. "I would also like to thank my team for working hard as officials, scorekeepers and everything else they did to make this camp a success. We are already looking forward to our 2013 camp and hope that our campers are as well."

Princeton [W.Va.] High School took home the camp tournament trophy, defeating Watauga [N.C.] High School in the championship game Saturday afternoon.

Coach Katz and her players also hosted instructional sessions where the high school coaches and their players watched a few drills and plays demonstrated by the Emory & Henry athletes. There were also multiple competitions for the high school players to win prizes. Competitions were held for most layups, free throws and three-pointers; the high school coaches went against each other in a half-court shot contest, which was won by Wayne Ryan, Head Coach of Summers County [W.Va.] High School.
