WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University Women's Basketball Team (3-4, 1-1 ODAC) rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit as it beat Emory & Henry College (1-6, 0-3 ODAC) Saturday afternoon in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play.

E&H jumped out to a 10-4 lead at the 15:49 mark of the first half. The Hornets closed the gap to 20-17, but the Wasps reeled off 12-straight points over the next 3:52 for a 32-17 lead. Shenandoah was able to trim the deficit to eight at the half (40-32). Junior guard Kristie Langley (Staley, N.C.) and senior forward JoBeth Wright (Mooresville, N.C.) each had 10 points in the opening 20 minutes of play.

Emory & Henry scored the first five points of the second half, pushing its lead back to 13 (45-32 with 18:39 remaining). The Hornets then went on a 27-12 run to lead, 59-57, with 5:45 on the clock. After E&H tied the contest at 59 with a pair of free throws, Shenandoah went on to outscore the Wasps, 13-7, over the final 3:25 of the game for the win.

Shenandoah was paced by Holly Chittenden with 22 points, 12 rebounds and four assists as she was eight-for-10 from the field. Imani Heggins had 20 points, six boards, three assists and three blocks while Crystal Petrus notched 11 points and three assists. The Hornets shot 50 percent (25-for-50) for the game, and hit 20-of-31 (64.5%) of their free throw attempts.

Langley had 14 points, seven rebounds and three assists while Wright finished the game with 15 points and six boards to lead Emory & Henry. Sophomore guard Anna Green (Raleigh, N.C.) tallied 10 points on four-for-five shooting while sophomore center Amanda Stanley (Mooresville, N.C.) notched nine points and four rebounds off the bench. The Wasps shot 47.2 percent (25-for-53) for the game but only made it to the charity stripe 20 times, hitting 11 of their un-contested shots (55.0%).

Emory & Henry will next take the court on Thursday when it hosts Bluefield College at Bob Johnson Court. Tipoff between the Wasps and Lady Rams is set for 7:00 p.m.
