AUSTIN, Texas – For a second straight year, Emory & Henry College has seen one of its women’s basketball players named to the NCAA Division III Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-District V Team, CoSIDA officials announced Thursday. CoSIDA is the College Sports Information Directors of America.

Junior guard Kristie Langley (Staley, N.C.) has been selected to the Academic All-District First Team for the second year in a row, and is now eligible for Academic All-America® honors. She is again the only player from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference to earn Academic All-District accolades.

Langley, a graduate of Providence Grove High School, is averaging 12.3 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game so far this season. She has scored in double figures in 12 of the Wasps’ 18 games including a season-high 23 points against the College of Mount Saint Vincent on December 19. She has made 18 three-point field goals and has 21 steals to her credit. Langley is a 4.0 student, majoring in biology with an emphasis on pre-medicine. As a team, Emory & Henry is currently 4-14 on the season with a 2-7 mark in ODAC play.

CoSIDA's Academic All-America® program has recognized student-athletes for their accomplishments on the field and in the classroom for over 50 years. CoSIDA members nominate and vote in selection of Academic All-District and All-America performers in 12 sport categories across all divisions of college athletics.
