Guilford Women’s Basketball Defeats Emory & Henry, 64-41, Monday Evening

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Guilford College Women's Basketball Team (17-6, 9-5 ODAC) picked up a 64-41 win over Emory & Henry College (6-17, 4-10 ODAC) Monday evening in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play at Ragan-Brown Field House. The Quakers held the Wasps to just 13 points in the second half en route to the victory.

Guilford got out to a 17-10 lead at the 14:05 mark of the first half, but four straight points by E&H closed the gap to 17-14. The Quakers pushed the margin to as much as 10 points before going into the half up 35-28.

GC scored the first 11 points after the intermission to go up 46-28. The Wasps would get no closer than 16 points the rest of the way as the Quakers maintained their lead for the 64-41 win.

Kayla Adams led all players as she score 14 points for Guilford on five-for-eight shooting, and added five rebounds, three assists and two blocks. Gabby Oglesby notched seven points and a game-high 13 rebounds, and blocked three shots of her own. Four different Quakers had six points in the game as 12 of the 15 players who saw action got into the scoring column.

Emory & Henry was led offensively by senior forward JoBeth Wright (Mooresville, N.C.) and sophomore guard Anna Green (Raleigh, N.C.) with eight points each. Sophomore forward Karina Farr (Graham, Wash.) added five points and five rebounds while junior guard Meredith Grant (Blountville, Tenn.) chipped in five points off the bench.

The Wasps will travel to Roanoke on Wednesday for a 7:00 p.m. ODAC contest against Hollins University.
