Emory & Henry’s Chloe Harris Named ODAC Women’s Basketball Player Of The Week

FOREST, Va. – Emory & Henry College freshman guard Chloe Harris has been selected as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, ODAC officials announced Monday. It is the first time since December 10, 2012 an E&H player has earned weekly honors from the league.

The Bristol, Virginia, native led Emory & Henry to a pair of ODAC wins over Hollins University (77-41) and Randolph-Macon College (85-84). Harris put up 12 points against Hollins on Wednesday, hitting a quartet of three-pointers and adding three rebounds, four assists and five steals.

Saturday afternoon, Harris recorded 16 points, hitting 6-of-10 field goal attempts to go along with six rebounds, five assists and five steals against the Yellow Jackets. She connected on three-of-four three-point attempts including the game-winning trey, which gave E&H the upset win over R-MC on Senior Day.

Starting 17 of the 23 games so far this year, Harris is averaging 10.3 points per game, one of four Wasps putting up double figures per contest. She is also averaging 3.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.2 steals as well. The John S. Battle High School graduate has reached double figures in scoring 15 times this year.

Emory & Henry, which has won 12 games this year, and four of its last five, will host Guilford College on Wednesday afternoon at 5:00 p.m., and travel to face Randolph College at 1:30 p.m., Saturday for the final game of the 2014-15 regular season. The Wasps are currently in a strong position to host a first round ODAC Tournament contest on Tuesday, February 24.
