EMORY, Va. - The inaugural Comfort Inn Holiday Tournament ended with an 11 point victory in Emory & Henry’s favor to wrap up the championship. The Wasps defeated the Crusaders of Alvernia by a score of 71-60. Tamara Brewster put on a show in the championship game. The junior put up career-highs in points and rebounds with 24 and 15, respectively, on her way to being named to the Comfort Inn Holiday Tournament All-Tournament team. Joining Brewster, from the Wasps, to the All-Tournament team is freshman Chloe Harris. In the two games of the tournament, Harris averaged 15.5 points on an astounding 73% shooting. During the first game of the tournament, the freshman shot 100% from the field and free throw line while putting up a career-high 17 points. Heading into the meat of the ODAC season, the Wasps have won 3 straight and are 5-5 overall.

Joining the two Wasps on the All-Tournament team from Alvernia was guard Olivia Andrefski. Andrefski led the Crusaders in scoring in the team’s first game vs. Meredith College with 16. In the championship game, the freshman put up 13 points and pulled down 8 rebounds. Alvernia University is now 5-5 on the season.

Meredith College went 1-1 in the Comfort Inn Holiday Tournament. After defeating Centenary College 63-60 in the consolation game, Meredith picked up their first win on the season. Senior Brittaney Rice paced the team with 16 points on her way to being named to the All-Tournament team. Meredith is now 1-5 on the season.

Centenary College could not come away with a victory in the tournament. However, forward Mallory George put up some big numbers throughout the tournament. George averaged 16 points and 11 rebounds during the tournament. Centenary is now 2-8 on the season.
