Emory & Henry Women’s Basketball Ranked No. 9 In NCAA Division III South Region

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Basketball Team holds the number nine spot in this week's NCAA Division III South Region Rankings, NCAA officials announced Wednesday. E&H is one of three Old Dominion Athletic Conference schools with teams ranked in the top nine regionally.

Emory & Henry (18-7, 11-5 ODAC) has won nine of its last 12 games and has its largest win total since winning 22 games during the 2001-02 campaign. The Wasps occupy the #3 seed for the 2016 ODAC Tournament and received a bye to the quarterfinals. It is the second time this season that E&H has been ranked in the South Region by the NCAA.

The University of Texas-Tyler remains the top team in this region this week with a 24-1 overall record and a 20-1 in-division mark. Guilford College is second while Lynchburg College rounds out the top three.

Maryville (Tenn.) College, Birmingham-Southern College, Trinity (Texas) College, Hendrix College and Austin College round out the list.

Emory & Henry will face off against sixth-seeded Bridgewater College in the quarterfinals of the 2016 ODAC Tournament at the Salem Civic Center on Thursday evening at 8:00 p.m.
