SWANNANOA, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Basketball Team (6-1) rallied from a two-point deficit at the half to defeat Warren Wilson College (4-9) by a 68-64 score Tuesday evening in non-conference action. The Owls came into the game ranked No. 20 in the USCAA Division II. The USCAA is the United States Collegiate Athletic Association.

How It Happened
- The Owls got out to a 12-8 lead at the 6:27 mark of the first period, but the Wasps put on an 11-0 run to take a 17-12 advantage 3:19 later. E&H would lead by as much as 21-15 in the opening frame before the WWC made the score 21-18 to close the quarter.
- Warren Wilson re-took the lead with 6:54 to go before the half and used a 7-2 run later in the second period to lead 33-29. Emory & Henry would score the final three points of the half to make the score 33-32 at the break.
- Coming out of the break, the Wasps began to put the pressure on as the game went back and forth with three ties and three lead changes in the third quarter alone. Down by three, 44-41, E&H scored 10 straight to go up 51-44 with 4:06 on the clock. Emory & Henry would lead by a 57-50 score going into the final 10 minutes of play.
- The early part of the fourth quarter was all E&H as it pushed the advantage to nine on three separate occasions. With the score 66-57 and 3:16 to go, the Owls put up seven straight to cut the margin to 66-64 with 44 seconds remaining. Both teams traded opportunities in the final minute but a layup by senior guard Asja Jenkins (Richmond, Va.) with four seconds left sealed the 68-84 win for the Wasps.
Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Four different players reached double figures in scoring, led by sophomore forward Taylor Blevins (Abingdon, Va.) with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
- Jenkins put up 12 points and five boards while senior guard Megan Jacoby (Richmond, Va.) had seven points, five rebounds seven assists and four steals.
- Junior guard Chloe Harris (Bristol, Va.) put up 11 points, six rebounds and four assists off the bench and freshman forward Sydney McKinney (Big Stone Gap, Va.) notched 11 points and eight boards.
Warren Wilson Individual Leaders
- Amber Godfrey led all players with 21 points, hitting five three-pointers while Danasia Dumas had 15 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two blocks.
- Codie Gibbs notched 11 points off the bench while Samantha Beasley had 10 poitns and three assists.
A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry finished the game at 44.1 percent (26-for-59) from the field while Warren Wilson hit just 22-of-76 (28.9%) of their field goal attempts. The Owls connected on eight three-pointers however, despite shooting just 24.2 percent from beyond the arc.
- E&H held a 36-28 lead on points in the paint including a 12-9 advantage on second-chance points.
- The Wasps led the battle for the boards, 53-37, despite the Owls' 14-12 advantage on offensive rebounds.
- Emory & Henry committed 22 turnovers in the game which resulted in 23 Warren Wilson points. WWC committed just nine miscues with E&H scoring nine points on the ensuing possessions.
