EMORY, Va. – The Lynchburg College Women's Basketball Team (13-3, 7-0 ODAC) remained perfect in Old Dominion Athletic Conference action as it defeated Emory & Henry College Team (11-5, 5-2 ODAC) by a 67-65 score Wednesday evening.

How It Happened
- Emory & Henry opened the game with an 11-2 run over 3:06 and pushed its advantage to 17-4 with 5:14 on the clock. The Hornets were able to close the gap to 17-14 with 12 seconds left in the period, but Wasp guard Megan Jacoby (Richmond, Va.) was fouled as time expired shooting a three-pointer. The senior converted all three attempts for a 20-14 advantage.
- E&H went up by as much as 14 points in the second 10 minutes of play, thanks to an 11-0 run which covered 2:28. Down by 10 with 1:41 to go before the half, LC scored the next seven points to go into the half down just 39-36.
- Lynchburg came out of the break and scored five in a row to take its first lead of the game, 42-39, at the 8:22 mark of the third. The Hornets would lead by as much as five in the period (48-43), but the Wasps put up a 7-1 run to close the quarter and retake the advantage, 50-49.
- The fourth stanza featured one tie and five lead changes as the outcome of the game was in the balance until the final second. Emory & Henry was able to push its margin out to five points with 2:41 to go, but Lynchburg finished the game on a 9-2 run, retaking the lead for the final time with seven seconds to go.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Sophomore forward Taylor Blevins (Abingdon, Va.) notched her sixth double-double of the year with 20 points and 10 rebounds, both game-highs. She went nine-for-12 from the field and added four steals on the night.
-  Jacoby had 13 points, seven assists, six steals and three rebounds while freshman forward Sydney McKinney (Big Stone Gap, Va.) put up eight points and seven boards off the bench.
- Senior guard Asja Jenkins (Richmond, Va.) and sophomore guard Tessa Johnston (High Point, N.C.) added seven points and two assists each.
- Freshman forward Kara Stafford (Bristol, Tenn.) had four points and nine rebounds with three steals.

Lynchburg Individual Leaders
- Caroline Naumann put up 18 points, all in the first half, to lead the Hornets and added five rebounds and three steals.
- Charmaine Hairston had 18 points, six rebounds and two steals while Sarah Coronel notched 15 points, two boards and three steals.
- Brittany Afolabi-Brown chipped in nine points, six rebounds and three steals.

A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry shot 48.2 percent (27-for-56) from the field but struggled from beyond the arc (3-for-14; 21.4%) and at the free throw line (50%; 8-for-16).
- Lynchburg hit 25-of-57 (43.9%) of its shot attempts and made up ground with 13 points at the charity stripe, shooting 61.9 percent (13-for-21).
- The turnover battle proved to be pivotal in the outcome of the game as LC scored 30 points off 30 E&H turnovers while the Wasps only netted 18 points off 21 Hornet miscues.
- Emory & Henry dominated the battle of the boards, 40-29, and led 15-11 on offensive rebounds but could not get a payoff on second-chance points as Lynchburg outscored E&H, 8-7.
- The Wasps held a 48-32 lead on points in the paint and a 14-6 advantage on fast-break buckets.
- Emory & Henry assisted on 16 of its 27 made field goals, for a 59% assist rating while Lynchburg only notched six assists on the evening.
