SALEM, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Basketball Team (19-7, 12-4 ODAC) earned its third-straight trip to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinals with a 80-38 dismantling of Shenandoah University (6-21, 2-14 ODAC) Friday night at the Salem Civic Center.

How It Happened
- The Wasps jumped out to a 10-2 lead at the 5:59 mark of the opening period. E&H pushed the margin to 18 thanks to another 10-2 stretch and led 26-10 through 10 minutes of play.
- Emory & Henry scored the first six points of the second quarter and a basket by SU made the score 32-12. The Wasps finished the final five minutes of the half on a 13-0 run to extend their lead to 45-12 at the intermission.
- E&H opened the third quarter on a 13-2 run to push its advantage to 58-14. The Wasps would lead by as much as 48 (64-16) with 4:43 left in the period.
- The latter part of the third and the entirety of the fourth allowed many of Emory & Henry's starters to rest and gave the Wasps' reserves some valuable experience in postseason action as the team cruised to the 80-38 victory.
Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Thirteen of the Wasps' 15 players put their names in the scoring column led by sophomore forward Taylor Blevins (Abingdon, Va.) with a game-high 15 points. She added nine rebounds and three steals, going four-for-seven from the field and six-for-six from the line.
- Senior guard Asja Jenkins (Richmond, Va.) was a perfect six-for-six from the floor for 13 points and four rebounds while freshman forward Sydney McKinney (Big Stone Gap, Va.) had 12 points and four boards.
- Freshman forward Kara Stafford (Bristol, Tenn.) put up six points and six rebounds while senior guard Megan Jacoby (Richmond, Va.) added eight assists and three steals.
Shenandoah Individual Leaders
- Mia Moore was the Hornets' only player to reach double figures with 12 points and three rebounds while Ashley Oakes had six points off the bench.
- Erin French contributed four points, 11 rebounds, two assists and two steals.
A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry shot an even 50 percent (32-for-64) from the field, going 10-for-16 (62.5%) in the opening period. The Wasps hit 11-of-17 (64.7%) of their shots in the third to keep the one-sided victory close at hand.
- Shenandoah made just 13-for-56 (23.2%) of its shots, hitting four three-pointers.
- E&H held a 56-29 lead on rebounding and outscored the Hornets by a 48-8 margin on points in the paint.
- The Wasps scored 22 points off 21 SU turnovers and added 12 fast-break points.

- Emory & Henry defeats Shenandoah for the third time this season and the seventh time in a row dating back to the 2013-14 season.
- The Wasps reach the ODAC Tournament Semifinals for the third year in a row. The last time that E&H was one of the final four teams in the conference postseason for three straight years was from 2000-02.
- The 42-point margin of victory was the largest postseason win for Emory & Henry since it defeated Mary Baldwin College by a 102-52 score in the quarterfinals of the 1999 tournament.
