Emory & Henry Women’s Basketball Ranked No. 5 In NCAA Division III South Region

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Basketball Team holds the number five spot in the first NCAA Division III South Region Rankings of the 2017-18 season, NCAA officials announced Wednesday. E&H is one of three Old Dominion Athletic Conference programs ranked in the top nine regionally.

Emory & Henry (16-5, 9-3 ODAC) has won its last five games and seven of its last nine and is poised to earn a bye to the Quarterfinals of the ODAC Tournament for the fourth year in a row. It is the sixth time in the past three seasons that the Wasps have been ranked regionally by the NCAA.

The University of Texas-Dallas (18-3) holds the top spot in the region while league foe Lynchburg College and Piedmont College make up the top three. The other ODAC team in the rankings is Randolph-Macon College (sixth).

Emory & Henry visits Guilford College in a key league matchup on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. The Wasps defeated the Quakers on Wednesday, January 10 by an 83-69 score.
