INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Basketball Team sits at the number five spot in the NCAA Division III South Region Rankings for a second week in a row, NCAA officials announced Wednesday. E&H is one of three Old Dominion Athletic Conference programs ranked in the top nine regionally.
Emory & Henry (18-5, 11-3 ODAC) has won its last seven games and nine of its last 11 and has clinched at least the #3 seed in the ODAC Tournament and a first-round bye. This marks the seventh time in the past three seasons that the Wasps have been ranked regionally by the NCAA.
The University of Texas-Dallas (20-3) remains the No. 1 team in the South while ODAC-rival Lynchburg College is second again this week. The only movement in the poll is at the No. 3 and No. 4 spots as the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and Piedmont College swap places. The other ODAC team in the rankings is Randolph-Macon College (sixth).
Emory & Henry visits Washington and Lee University on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. The Wasps defeated the Generals on Wednesday, January 24 by an 72-55 score.
