INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Basketball Team moves up three spots to No. 2 in the latest NCAA Division III South Region Rankings, NCAA officials announced Wednesday. E&H is one of three Old Dominion Athletic Conference programs ranked in the top nine regionally.
Emory & Henry (20-5, 13-3 ODAC) finished the regular season on a nine-game winning streak, tying its longest since the 2002-03 season. The Wasps claimed first place outright in the ODAC regular season for the first time in program history and are the #1 seed in this week's conference tournament for the first time since 1984.
The University of Texas-Dallas (22-3) continues their stay as the No. 1 team in the South while ODAC-rivals Randolph-Macon College and Lynchburg College sit at third and fourth.
#1 Emory & Henry will take on ninth-seeded Shenandoah University on Thursday afternoon at 1:00 p.m., in the ODAC Tournament Quarterfinals. The Wasps swept the season series with the Hornets.
