Emory & Henry’s Taylor Blevins Named To The All-South Region Team By D3hoops.com

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. –The Emory & Henry College Women's Basketball Team has seen junior forward Taylor Blevins named to the D3hoops.com All-South Region Second Team. Blevins adds all-region accolades to her All-ODAC First Team selection from three weeks ago.

The Abingdon, Virginia native receives recognition from D3hoops.com for the second time in her career. Following the 2016 season, Blevins was named the South Region Rookie of the Year by the group.

Blevins started all 30 games for the Wasps this year and averaged 12.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.3 steals per contest. She led the team and was third in the league in field goal percentage (52.7%). Blevins scored in double figures in 21 games during the year, and reached the 1,000-point plateau for her career against Lynchburg College (Feb. 17). She was also named to the ODAC Tournament All-Tournament Team after leading the Wasps to their first title game since 2001.

Emory & Henry set a new program record with 23 wins and reached the NCAA Division III Tournament for the first time. The Wasps made the most of their berth in the postseason, advancing to the Second Round with a win over Roger Williams University.

With the all-region accolades, Blevins is now eligible to receive All-America.
