ASHLAND, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Basketball Team has seen a pair of players selected to the Randolph-Macon Classic sponsored by Riesbeck Contracting all-classic team, Randolph-Macon College officials announced following the completion of the event.
Senior forward Taylor Blevins (Abingdon, Va.) and junior forward Sydney McKinney (Big Stone Gap Va.) were among the six players selected to the All-Classic Team.
Blevins averaged 11 points and 6.0 rebounds for the weekend, going 9-for-18 (50%) from the field and put up three assists, two steals and a block. She scored 20 points on eight-for-15 shooting with nine rebounds against Arcadia University on Friday evening.
McKinney put up 13.5 points per contest, shooting 66.7 percent (10-for-15) from the floor. She pulled down 10 boards and added five assists and four steals. She had 19 points and eight rebounds Friday against Arcadia and had eight points, two rebounds and two assists in just 14 minutes against the University of Valley Forge Saturday.
Emory & Henry (4-0, 0-0 ODAC) will open Old Dominion Athletic Conference play on Sunday when it visits Shenandoah University. Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
