Taylor Blevins Named ODAC Women’s Basketball Player Of The Week

FOREST, Va. – Emory & Henry College senior forward Taylor Blevins has been selected as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, ODAC officials announced Monday. It marks the second time in her career that Blevins has received weekly honors from the league.

The Abingdon, Virginia native led Emory & Henry (9-2, 3-2 ODAC) to a pair of wins at the Lynchburg Holiday Tournament over the weekend. She averaged 11.5 points and seven rebounds, shooting 69 percent (11-for-16) from the field. Blevins added a pair of assists, two steals and a block to her tally.

In Saturday's 70-54 win against Meredith, Blevins went 5-for-8 from the field for 11 points and seven rebounds in just 20 minutes.

Blevins went for 12 points on 6-for-8 shooting with seven rebounds in the Wasps' 76-56 drubbing of No. 16 Christopher Newport University. It was E&H's second win over a top-20 ranked team this year.

For the year, Blevins is averaging 12.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per contest. She is third in the league in field goal percentage (56.4%) and 10th in field goals made (53-of-94).

Emory & Henry, which has been ranked as high as 15th in the D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll this season, will step back into ODAC play on Wednesday when it visits Bridgewater College (8-3, 3-2 ODAC). Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
