FOREST, Va. – For the second time in three weeks, Emory & Henry College senior forward Peyton Williams has been selected as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, ODAC officials announced Monday. It is the third week in a row that E&H has seen one of its players earn top league honors as senior Sydney McKinney (Big Stone Gap, Va.) was recognized last week.

The Saltville, Virginia native guided the Wasps (6-1, 1-0 ODAC) to an 84-80 overtime victory against Washington and Lee University on Sunday to open league play. She led all players with a career-high 24 points, pulling down eight boards, and adding three assists, a steal and a block.

Williams shot 6-for-12 from the field and connected on 12-of-14 free throws for an 85.7 percent conversion rate at the line. Defensively, she limited W&L's Taylor Casey to just 5-for-15 shooting, four turnovers and no rebounds on the day while causing multiple deflections in the passing lanes.

The Northwood High School graduate is tied atop the ODAC with teammate Sydney McKinney in scoring (17.1) and rebounding (10.1). She leads the league in overall points (120), rebounds (71), free throws made (33-of-42), minutes played (251), and minutes played per game (35.9). She is second in field goals made (39-of-78) and third in field goal shooting (50.0%).

Emory & Henry will host Ferrum College in an ODAC contest Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m.
