INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – For the second week in a row, the Emory & Henry College Women's Basketball team is the number six-ranked program in the NCAA Division III South Region, NCAA officials announced Wednesday. The top six spots remain the same from last week. This ranking, combined with automatic bids awarded to conference champions, is the official means of selecting and pairing participants for NCAA postseason tournaments.

These are the second of three sets of rankings which will be released prior to the selection of 64-team field for 2020 NCAA Division III Tournament. There will be a final set of regional rankings released after the tournament bracket is revealed.

E&H remains the only program in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference to be listed as one of the top nine squads in the South. It is the 12th-straight period that the Wasps have been ranked in the Region and the 15th time dating back to the 2015-16 season.

Emory & Henry (19-4, 13-3 ODAC) has locked in at least the #3 seed in the ODAC Tournament with two games remaining. With wins in their final two contests, the Wasps will be the #1 seed in this year's tournament.

Oglethorpe University (23-1) remains atop the region, with its lone loss of the year coming at the hands of E&H in November. Trinity (Texas) University stays at No. 2, William Peace University is third while the University of Texas-Dallas is fourth and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor is fifth. Austin College moves into the ranking at No. 7 this week, dropping Emory University to eighth while East Texas Baptist University remains ninth.

Emory & Henry visits Guilford College on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. The Wasps defeated the Quakers, 65-50, in their first meeting of the year.
