EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Basketball Team (3-1) picked up its third win of the season on Friday as the Wasps grounded Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (Ariz.) (1-4) in non-conference play. The Wasps topped the visiting Eagles by a 74-60 final score.

How It Happened
- E&H got off to a hot start as they posted the first eight points of the game. The Eagles battled back to close the gap to 15-9 at the first media timeout. Freshman forward Gracyn Hall (Randleman, N.C.) paced the Wasps in the first quarter, recording six points en route to a 20-16 lead after one.
- The Wasps continued to push the pace in the second quarter and a buried shot from beyond the three-point arc for sophomore forward Breanna Yarber (Meadowview, Va.) ballooned the E&H advantage out to eleven at 32-21. The Eagles once again responded with nine of the final 14 points of the half to close within 37-30 at the halftime break.
- The Eagles trimmed the Wasps' margin down to just four to begin the third quarter, but the home squad answered with back-to-back buckets from Yarber and freshman guard Reagan Chapman (Rosman, N.C.) to give them an eleven-point margin at the media timeout. E&H finished the frame shooting 69.2% to open up a 58-45 lead heading into the final quarter.
- The Wasps pushed their lead out to as many as 17 in the fourth as they never looked back and earned the victory over the visitors from Arizona by the 74-60 final.
Emory & Henry Leaders
- Yarber led E&H with 21 points, four rebounds, one assist, one steal and a blocked shot. Junior forward Emma Santoro (King, N.C.) finished with 15 points, four steals, two rebounds, one block and an assist. Hall contributed 12 points, six boards, a pair of assists and a steal.
- Junior forward Grace Glance (Clyde, N.C.) recorded a game-high 12 rebounds, five points, five blocks, a pair of steals and added two helpers. Junior guard Hannah Spainhour (King, N.C.) had a game-high seven assists, six points, four boards and a steal for the Wasps in the winning effort.
Embry-Riddle Individual Leaders
- Susie Reynoso led the Eagles with 16 points, four rebounds, a pair of assists and a steal while Zakiirah King had 11 points, four rebounds, three steals, two blocks and an assist.
- Kate McBride added eight points, four rebounds, an assist and a blocked shot off of the bench for ERAU.
A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry made 49.2 percent (31-of-63) of its field goal attempts and was just 3-of-13 (23.1%) from behind the three-point arc. The Wasps were money from the charity stripe for the second time in as many games, going 9-for-10 (90%) from the free throw line.
- Embry-Riddle shot 20-for-56 (35.7%) from the floor with four three-pointers. The Eagles made just 57.1 percent (16-of-28) of their attempts from the stripe.
- The Wasps held a 40-35 rebounding advantage including a 27-19 margin on the defensive glass.
- E&H posted a dominant 46-28 lead on points in the paint and led 12-4 on fast-break points.
