Lenoir-Rhyne Women’s Basketball Blows By Emory & Henry, 102-68, Saturday In SAC Action

HICKORY, N.C. – The Lenoir-Rhyne University Women's Basketball Team (5-3, 0-3 SAC) outscored Emory & Henry College (4-5, 0-2 SAC) by a 53-30 margin in the second half on its way to a 102-68 South Atlantic Conference victory Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
- The two squads battled out to a 10-10 tie at the 5:52 mark of the opening period. The Wasps went on a 7-3 run to take a 17-13 lead with 3:14 on the clock. LR responded with a 12-7 run to lead 25-24 through one quarter of action.
-  Lenoir-Rhyne opened the second on a 17-2 run to push their margin to 42-26 with 6:44 to go before the intermission. The Wasps responded to close the gap to 11 (49-38) at the break thanks to a 12-7 run to end the period.
- The Bears opened the third on a 14-2 run to go up by a 63-40 margin with 6:20 on the clock. LR used a 10-2 run later in the frame to propel it to a 25-point lead (75-50) with 10 minutes left to play.
- The fourth quarter was all Lenoir-Rhyne, as the Bears outscored the Wasps by a 27-18 margin on their way to the 102-68 win.

Emory & Henry Leaders
- Junior forward Emma Santoro (King, N.C.) led all players with 25 points, adding three rebounds, three assists and three blocks while junior forward Grace Glance (Clyde, N.C.) had 20 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals.
- Freshman guard Ryhan Harris (Salem, Va.) notched six points and four boards off the bench while junior guard Hannah Spainhour (King, N.C.) went for five points and three rebounds.

Lenoir-Rhyne Individual Leaders
- Blaikley Crooks led the Bears with 22 points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists as Mikeba Jones had 19 points, nine boards and three steals.
- Tilda Lindstrom posted 18 points and eight rebounds while Andrea Torres went for 13 points off the bench.
- Emily Harman scored eight points with 10 assists, four rebounds and three steals.

A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry shot 46 percent (29-for-63) from the field but made just four three-pointers. The Wasps were 6-for-8 (75%) from the free throw line.
- Lenoir-Rhyne made 38-of-68 (55.9%) of their field goal chances, connecting on 12 shots from beyond the arc. The Bears were a white-hot 87.5 percent (14-for-16) at the charity stripe.
- E&H held a 36-29 rebounding advantage and used 13 offensive boards to posted a 16-6 lead on second-chance points. The Wasps also led, 44-32, on points in the paint.
- LR forced E&H into 24 turnovers, committing just seven miscues of their own. The Bears outscored the Wasps, 34-2, on points off turnovers.
