Emory & Henry Women’s Basketball Announces 2024-25 Team & Schedule

EMORY, Va. – With basketball practice officially underway, Emory & Henry University Head Women's Basketball Coach is excited to release information about the 2024-25 season. The Wasps roster consists of 15 players with 11 returners, one transfer and three freshmen.

Joining the team this year are sophomore transfer Lyndie Ramsey (Elizabethton, Tenn.) and freshmen Dot Mills (Canton, N.C.), Talia St. Hilaire (Kissimmee, Fla.) and Tori West (Richmond, Va.).

Ramsey played her freshman year at East Tennessee State University after a successful career at Unaka High School. She was a three-time TSSAA 1A All-State selection and a finalist for TSSAA Miss Basketball in 2023. Ramsey finished her career as the Unaka High School and Northeast Tennessee all-time scoring leader.

Mills was a two-time conference player of the year at Pisgah High School where she scored more than 1,100 points.  She was also a four-time all-conference and three-time all-district selection. Mills was selected to the all-conference tournament team all four years and was a two-time conference tournament MVP.

St. Hilare was a two-time team MVP at City of Life Christian Academy, scoring 1,178 points over her career. She finished as the second-leading scorer across both genders and was the school's 2023-24 athlete of the year.

West helped lead The Steward School to a pair of VISAA Division II State Championships and was named to the VISAA All-State Second Team as a senior. She scored 1,093 points over her career and was recognized twice by the Richmond Times-Dispatch as an honorable mention player for her accomplishments.

This year, E&H will play a regular season schedule of 30 games with a pair of exhibitions. The South Atlantic Conference season has expanded to a full double round-robin of 24 contests. The Wasps will also play two games in the Puerto Rico Clasico, a pair of true non-conference games and will play the second season of their SAC/Conference Carolinas Challenge.

Emory & Henry gets things started on Monday, November 4 with a NCAA Division I exhibition contest at Tennessee Tech University. Tipoff between the Wasps and Golden Eagles is set for 6:00 p.m. Central (7 p.m. Eastern).

The Wasps travel to Mars Hill for the SAC/Conference Carolinas Challenge. On Friday, November 8 E&H will face Southern Wesleyan University and will close out competition on Saturday, November 9 against Belmont Abbey College.

Emory & Henry will play its two true non-conference games at home against King (Tenn.) University on Wednesday, November 13 (6 p.m.) and Saturday, November 16 (2 p.m.).

The Wasps jump into SAC action with six league contests between Wednesday, November 20 and Saturday, December 7. E&H opens league play at home against the University of Virginia's College at Wise on Tuesday, November 20.

Next up for Emory & Henry is the Puerto Rico Clasico in San Juan, PUERTO Rico. The Wasps will face off against NCAA Division II Independent institutions University of Puerto Rico-Bayamon and University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras on Monday, December 9 and Tuesday, December 10, respectively.

After returning to the mainland, E&H has three more games before Christmas including two SAC contests. On Tuesday, December 17, Emory & Henry will host NCAA Division III University of Lynchburg in an exhibition at 11:00 a.m. The contest is being dubbed the "Spainhour Showdown" as senior guard Hannah Spainhour's (King, N.C.) sister, Bree, is a junior on the Hornets' squad.

Emory & Henry gets into the heart of its SAC schedule after the first of the year with the final 16 contests coming against league foes.

The South Atlantic Conference Tournament will be played between Tuesday, March 4 and Friday March 7 at the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center. The quarterfinal rounds will be split between Tuesday and Wednesday with the 1/8 and 2/7 games played on Tuesday and the 3/6 and 4/5 games on Wednesday. The semifinals are set for Thursday with the SAC Championship game on Friday, March 7 at 7 p.m.
