GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Limestone University Women's Basketball Team (7-8, 3-8 SAC) opened up a 24-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back on its way to an 81-66 win over visiting Emory & Henry University (5-12, 0-11 SAC).
The contest was postponed from Saturday due to the effects of Winter Storm Cora across Central and Southern Appalachia.

How It Happened
- The Saints jumped out to a 15-4 lead at the 4:13 mark of the opening period and scored nine of the final 11 points to go up 24-8. In the second quarter, Emory & Henry started on a 12-2 run to close the gap to 26-20. Limestone pushed back extending its advantage to 14 (38-24) at the intermission.
- The third and fourth quarters saw the teams go back and forth on the scoreboard. The Wasps closed the gap to 11 with a 5-2 run as they returned to action but the Saints responded to lead 60-38 with 2:37 left in the third. E&H clawed back to cut the deficit down to 15 with a 9-2 run over the last 2:10 of the frame. In the fourth, Emory & Henry got within 10 down the stretch, but Limestone was able to cruise to the 81-66 win.
Emory & Henry Leaders
- Freshman guard Lyndie Ramsey (Elizabethton, Tenn.) posted a team-high 15 points off the bench with three rebounds and to steals while sophomore forward Gracyn Hall (Randleman, N.C.) had 12 points and four boards.
- Junior forward Breanna Yarber (Meadowview, Va.) posted 10 points, four rebounds, two assists and two blocks while senior forward Emma Santoro (King, N.C.) went for eight points and six rebounds.
Limestone Individual Leaders
- Megan Watson led all players with 19 points, four rebounds, and three assists while Graycie Poe had 17 points and four assists.
- Kalisha Hill notched a double-double with 15 points, 14 rebounds and two assists as Reagan Kargo added 15 points, four boards, three steals and two assists.
- Amara Newsom chipped in 11 points and five rebounds.
A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry went 39.3 percent (22-of-56) for the game with eight makes from long range. The Wasps were 14-of-21 (66.7%) at the free throw line.
- Limestone shot 30-of-67 (44.8%) from the field with 13 triples. The Saints converted just 53.3 percent (8-of-15) of is attempts from the stripe.
- LU held a 44-34 rebounding advantage and but E&H led 13-12 on second-chance points despite 18 offensive boards by the Saints.
- E&H led, 28-26, on points in the paint and 30-4 on bench points.
- Limestone took advantage of 20 Wasp mistakes for a 26-14 lead on points off turnovers.
