EMORY, Va. – The Catawba College Women's Basketball Team (15-9, 13-7 SAC) pulled away from Emory & Henry University (7-20, 2-19 SAC) for an 84-70 win in South Atlantic Conference play Saturday afternoon. The Wasps also celebrated Senior Day, honoring their seven seniors prior to tipoff.

How It Happened
- Catawba opened the game by going up 15-5 in the first three minutes. E&H put together a 16-6 run to close the frame for a 26-25 score. The second saw the two squads went back and forth with the Wasps taking a 43-42 lead at the intermission.
- The Catawba Indians scored eight of the first 10 points to retake the lead, 50-44 with 7:29 in the third. Emory & Henry responded to tie things up at 52, but a 14-0 run by the visitors made the score 66-52 with 1:11 on the clock. E&H scored six in a row to close the gap to eight, 66-58, with 10 minutes to play.
- In the fourth, Catawba pushed its advantage to 16 at 77-61 with 4:03 on the clock. The teams traded baskets down the stretch with the Catawba Indians coming away with the 84-70 win.

Emory & Henry Leaders
- Junior forward Breanna Yarber (Meadowview, Va.) scored 22 points off the bench, going 10-for-16 from the field with three rebounds, and two steals while sophomore forward Gracyn Hall (Randleman, N.C.) had 13 points and five rebounds.
- Senior forward Emma Santoro (King, N.C.) posted 10 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and four steals as sophomore guard Rhyan Harris (Salem, Va.) tacked on 10 points, six rebounds and six assists.

Catawba Individual Leaders
- Janiya Foskey made 16 field goals on her way to a 38-point, 12-rebound double-double. Mary Spry had 17 points and eight rebounds off the bench.
- Nala Baker pitched in 15 points, four steals and two assists.  

A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry was 26-of-54 (48.1%) from the floor with eight three-pointers. The Wasps shot 83.3 percent (10-for-12) on their free throw attempts.
- Catawba shot 48.6 percent (34-for-70) for the game with six triples. The Catawba Indians went 10-for-15 (66.7%) at the charity stripe.
- Catawba held a 37-31 rebounding advantage and led, 15-5, on second chance points. The Catawba Indians led 52-32 on points in the paint and 33-11 on points off turnovers.
- The Wasps posted a 50-20 lead on bench points.
