Emory & Henry Women’s Golf Finishes Eighth At Bridgewater Fall Invitational

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Golf Team claimed an eighth-place finish out of 13 competing teams at the Bridgewater Fall Invitational Sunday.

Emory & Henry
- Sophomore Ashley Underwood (Strawberry Plains, Tenn.) carded a collegiate-best round of 93 (+21), finishing 38th.
- Freshman Chandler Thomas (Elizabethton, Tenn.) shot a 110 (+38) for a 48thh overall spot while freshman Sierra Giramma (Sanford, Fla.) finished tied for 46th after a round of 115 (+43) Sunday.
 - Junior Laura Mister (Herndon, Va.) moved up one spot to 53rdd to round out the field for E&H.

The Leaders
- Bridgewater (623; +47) won the team title by 32 shots over Stevenson University (655; +79) while Randolph-Macon College was third.
- Defending Division III National Champion Christina Herbert of Bridgewater earned medalist honors, shooting a two-under 70 to for a -2 (142). Alessandra Bertacche of Marymount (Va.) University was the runner-up, 10 shots back (152; +8).

Up Next
Emory & Henry will next compete in a one-day, 18-hole event at Vista Links Golf Course on Saturday, October 14. Southern Virginia University will serve as host.
