Emory & Henry Women’s Golf Competes Twice Over Spring Break In Myrtle Beach

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Golf Team played a pair of single-day events during its Spring Break trip to the Grand Strand of South Carolina. The Wasps dropped a dual to Carroll (Wis.) University on Tuesday and finished third in a tri-match with Carroll and the University of Dubuque on Wednesday.

Tuesday's Basics

Emory & Henry
Sophomore Chandler Thomas (Elizabethton, Tenn.) finished tied for second, shooting a 106 (+34) on the day while junior Ashley Underwood (Strawberry Plains, Tenn.) put up a fifth-place finish at +39 (111). Senior Laura Mister (Herndon, Va.) shot a 122 while junior Skylar Hill (Meadowview, Va.) carded a 126 to take seventh and eighth, respectively.

The Winners
Carroll won the event with a team score of 412 led by Kailey McDade's round of 88 (+16).

Emory & Henry
Thomas carded her second top 10 of the week with a 101 (+29) to finish seventh while Underwood was one shot back at 102 (+30) to tie for eighth. Mister shot a 117 and Hill turned in a score of 126, going 14th and 15th on the day.

The Winners
Daniella Miranda of the University of Dubuque won the event by three strokes, shooting an 80 (+8). Dubuque's Madison Bowers was second at 83 (+11) as the Spartans put five players in the top six on their way to the event win.

Emory & Henry will be back in action on Thursday, April 11 when it faces Greensboro College in a dual match at The Champions Course at Bryan Park in Browns Summit, North Carolina.
