Emory & Henry Women’s Golf Finishes 11th At The King University Invitational

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Golf Team completed play at the King University Invitational on Tuesday, finishing 11th in the field.

Emory & Henry
Freshman Briah Frisbee (Leicester, N.C.) carded an 87 (+16) on Tuesday to finish the tournament at +26 (27th overall) while freshman Lexi Humbert (Greeneville, Tenn.) shaved 13 strokes off yesterday's round to put up a +9 (80), finishing tied for 40th.

Sophomore Emily Smelcer (Walland, Tenn.) shot an 89 (+18), finishing tied for 46th as freshman Reece Chasteen (Lake City, Fla.) was nine strokes better than her round from Monday taking 53rd place with a score of 92 (+21). Sophomore McKenna Quillen (Abingdon, Va.) rounded out the field for the Wasps with a 101 (+30), finishing 55th overall.

The Winners
Nilubol Panno of Tusculum University went 76-75 – 151 (+9) for the tournament to win by four strokes over Sasha Gardiner of King (+13).

Tusculum claimed the team title with a score of +59 (321-306 – 627), besting Erskine College by 14 shots.

Up Next
E&H will be back in action on Monday, October 11 when it competes in the UVA Wise Invitational alongside the Wasps' men's team. The tournament will take place at Cattails Golf Club at MeadowView in Kingsport, Tennessee.
