Emory & Henry Women’s Golf Sits Eighth After Monday’s Round At The King Invitational

BRISTOL, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry College Women's Golf Team is in eighth place overall after 18 holes at the King Invitational. The event is being played at the Golf Club of Bristol and hosted by King (Tenn.) University.

Emory & Henry
Freshman Katie Hall (Abingdon, Va.) and sophomore Lexi Humbert (Greeneville, Tenn.) are part of a four-way tie for 18th through the first round, shooting a +10 (81).

Junior Emily Smelcer (Walland, Tenn.) posted an 87 (+16) and is tied for 35th overall while sophomore Briah Frisbee (Leicester, N.C.) carded a 92 (+21) during Monday's round. Freshman Hannah Smelcer (Walland, Tenn.) turned in a score of 93 (+22) to round out the team.

The Leaders
Converse University is the clubhouse leader as a team after putting up a +23 (307) to lead Belmont Abbey College by seven shots (+30, 314). The Valkyries have three players in the top 10 on their way to the day one advantage.

Tusculum University's Nilubol Panno sits in first place individually at +2 (73) with a trio of players one shot back in second.
